The Evolution and Adoption of gRPC

In 2015, Google developed gRPC to link microservices built with diverse technologies. Initially part of Google's internal infrastructure, it later became open-source. In its first year, it was adopted by top organizations for various purposes, from microservices to IoT. By 2017, its popularity led it to become a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) incubation project.
